What to expect when receiving a massage?

You can expect to have your massage in a safe, quiet environment by a nationally certified and licensed Massage Therapist. Your treatment room may be dimly lit and soothing music is often played. You can expect to feel peaceful, relaxed and calm afterwards.

Is tipping the Massage Therapist appropriate?

Tipping is not necessary. We believe the value and the quality of your massage experience should not depend on how much extra money you tip out at the end. We strive to give a high quality experience each and every time. The greatest tip is your recommendation of our services to your friends and family. As a special thanks for your referral we offer you the first time client discount of $20 off your next massage.

When should I arrive?

If this is your first visit, you should arrive at least 15 minutes early. You will be ask to fill out a confidential intake form. The practitioner will begin by asking questions such as the reason you are seeking massage therapy, any injuries or medical conditions you may have, any other information that may help to serve you better.

What does it mean to disrobe to your comfort level?

The massage therapist will excuse herself so you can undress yourself to comfortable level and cover yourself with a sheet and blanket. For some people undressing to their comfort level  means completely disrobing, others leave underwear on, some people only remove shoes
and anywhere in between. Wherever your comfort level lies, the massage will be tailored to your needs. This means that you will remain under a sheet and blanket except for the area that is being worked on.
(For example  when the back is being massaged , the back is draped to the level of the hips). There are also various massage techniques that can be done with the client fully clothed.

Does massage hurt?

While some areas may be tender or uncomfortable during the massage, they should not "hurt". Please let the therapist know so she could adjust pressure level and you can receive the most benefit from your massage. Some believe a massage session must hurt in order to gain maximum benefit. This a not true. If the massage is too deep muscles will guard against the pressure causing the muscles to contract rather than relax. If you are not sure if the pressure is too deep for your body check in, if you are able to breathe comfortably and are not wondering when it will be over the pressure is at a good level. Please be sure to communicate with your therapist of your needs during the session especially if you feel the pressure is too deep.

How long is the session?

We offer 30, 60 and 90 minutes massage sessions.

A 30 minute session is only enough time for a specific area or two such as the back and neck.

A 60 minute session is enough time to cover the entire body i.e. back, neck, arms, legs, chest and face.

A 90 minute session can provide client with the full body massage and extra time to focus on specific  problem areas.

Do I get a full 60 minutes massage if I book an hour session?

Yes. If you book a 60 min. massage , you get a full hour of " table time." Same for 30 or 90 minute sessions. We schedule plenty of time for intakes, and finding out what your needs are for the day. The only exception to this is when you are late for your appointment. Please be respectful of our  time and yours and arrive on time to your appointment. If you are late , your session will still end at the scheduled time, and you will pay for the full time allotted.

How often should I get a massage?

This depends on what your goals are, and your budget. Getting a massage at least once a month is recommended, as the effects are cumulative.

I have a medical condition. Can I still receive massage?

While massage sessions are for general wellness purposes some medical conditions may benefit from massage, however there are other medical conditions where massage is NOT recommended. You should always see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment of any suspected medical problems. Some conditions require a doctor's note before treatment can begin.

What should I expect after massage?

Most people feel very relaxed after massage. Areas that had been hurting you before, may be reduced in pain level or eliminated. Some toxins are released during massage. It is recommended that you drink plenty of water to prevent soreness.
